About the author

Chen Kenichi

Chen Kenichi is the Iron Chef Chinese who wears a yellow outfit and holds a cleaver in his introduction. He is the longest-serving Iron Chef and the only original Iron Chef, having been an Iron Chef for the series' six-year run. Chen’s father was a world class Chinese chef, known for his intricate sauces. He passed his love for Szechuan cooking on to his son. Kenichi has become a progressive leader in cuisine, often re-interpreting classic Chinese/Szechuan dishes to appeal to a Japanese palate.
