In the Time of Dragon Moon

In this rich medieval fantasy novel, a young healer of mixed blood—half Euit, half English—inherits an impossible task and turns to her only possible ally, the king’s nephew, for help.

“The author’s world-building is detailed and fascinating, and Uma is a strong, admirable heroine.”—School Library Journal

Beware the dark moon time when love and murder intertwine . . .

Uma Quarteney lives far from the mighty Pendragon castle, on the southernmost tip of Wilde Island. Half Euit, half English, she wants to become a healer like her Euit father so that she’ll finally be accepted by her tribe. But the mad English queen in the north, desperate for a second child, sends the prince to kidnap Uma and her father and then demands that Uma’s father cure her barrenness.

When her father dies, this impossible task falls to Uma. If she can’t ensure that the queen is with child by the time of the Dragon Moon, she’ll be burned at the stake.

The threat increases when a murderer slays a Pendragon. Uma reaches out to her only possible ally: Jackrun Pendragon—the king’s nephew, who is rumored to have human, fairy, and dragon blood. Together, they must use their hidden powers to outwit a secret plot to overthrow the Pendragon throne, and find a way to accept all the elements—Euit, English, dragon, and fairy—that make them who they are.
