Illustrated Almanac

A timeless, illustrated children’s almanac celebrating the seasons through stories, nature, crafts, play and quiet everyday wonder.

A month-by-month guide to the year, The Children’s Almanac invites young readers to reconnect with the seasons through stories, poems, plays, crafts, games and nature notes. Inspired by the structure and magic of Lia Leendertz’s bestselling almanacs, each chapter offers a rich mix of moon phases, wildlife, folklore, simple recipes and creative prompts. With a deliberately screen-free, timeless feel, this beautifully illustrated book encourages curiosity, imagination and a slower way of engaging with the world, helping children to notice, make, play and find meaning in every month of the year.

About the author

Lia Leendertz

Lia Leendertz is the author of The Almanac: A Seasonal Guide, the Sunday Times bestselling annual that has done more than any other to bring the almanac back into British life. Since the first crowd-funded and self-published edition in 2018 it has appeared every year, matching tide tables, moon phases and sunrise times against folklore, wildlife, recipes and song, the practical and the magical on facing pages. Once a form that had settled into obscure predictions or dry reference, it is now, in her hands, the book a great many British households keep by the kettle. She lives in Bristol, presents the monthly podcast As the Season Turns, and writes the newsletter Lia's Living Almanac.
