Flying Witch 7

Makoto returns to rural Japan to work on her magic after being away for six years. In her new home, she along with her black cat Chito, share some of what she has learned as she gets used to living in a slower and more curious part of the country.

A surreal comedy in the vein of Yotsuba&! and Nichijou with a magical theme combines humor, slice of life and traditional Japanese culture in this debut work from Chihiro Ishizuka.

Makoto and her cousins head out to the yomiya, a night festival. There they run into the Harbinger of Summer who tends to oversleep. To apologize for causing it to snow on their house, the Harbinger offers them a treasured delicacy from the other side. Makoto has been raising mandrakes in the garden, but something has gone awry! Akira takes Makoto to a hot springs where a reporter tries to get a scoop about witchcraft. Akane goes to great lengths to cure Inukai, but she might not be ready to change back…!

Praise for Flying Witch 7

"Flying Witch emphasizes that while actual magic is nice, there is ultimately magic in everything." --Anime News Network

You'll want to watch Flying Witch to make you feel good, as you might expect with an iyashikei-style show. I think we can agree that Flying Witch is exactly the "Anime for the Soul" that we could use right now. Recommended." - Otaku USA

Every time I finish a volume of Flying Witch, it's as if the friends and place they reside in have to go away once more for the time being. But I know that when the time comes to visit them again, a feeling of joy will be rekindled. What Ishizuka achieves in each volume of Flying Witch is a gem all on its own.." - B3 Manga Review
