Tony Palmer has worked as a book designer for various publishers since 1986. He has won designer awards for his work and is often acknowledged in the Australian Publishers Association Annual Book Design Awards. He is currently a senior designer at Penguin Books.
Break of Day, written in 2004, was Tony's first novel and drew from personl family history as well as documented fact. His great uncle was a first world war veteran and Tony realised this was a story that needed to be told.

{ view all }The Australian Book Industry Awards were held in Sydney on Friday night. It was a great night for Penguin with our books taking the top honors in four book categories including the prestigious Book of the Year. Congratulations also to Peg McColl, Kate McCormack and the rights team who won the International (Rights) Award for the second year running for Paul French's book Midnight in Peking. United Book Distributors were again named Distributor of the Year.
