About
Janine Dawson worked backstage in theatre while she trained as a cartoon animator. Working for Hanna-Barbera, she lived and travelled all over the world - the US, Canada, Taiwan, Vietnam and India. She now lives in Sydney with her daughter Rosie and their cats. Janine has illustrated many children's books, including several in the Omnibus Solo range, the Dulcie and Dud books by Carol Ann Martin, the Lily Quench series, and the picture books Pudding and Chips and The Junkyard Dogs.

{ view all }The Australian Book Industry Awards were held in Sydney on Friday night. It was a great night for Penguin with our books taking the top honors in four book categories including the prestigious Book of the Year. Congratulations also to Peg McColl, Kate McCormack and the rights team who won the International (Rights) Award for the second year running for Paul French's book Midnight in Peking. United Book Distributors were again named Distributor of the Year.
