About

Hawkesbury Library and Penguin Random House proudly present a morning with Judy Nunn.

Many years ago, as part of a local writers’ festival, Judy had the opportunity to visit the Houtman Abrolhos, a chain of islands off the coast of Geraldton. The desolation of the islands was the perfect inspiration for Sanctuary: What if people in search of sanctuary landed on this remote island, with no idea of where they might be, only to discover that, despite the starkness of the place, it provided everything necessary for their survival?

Join one of Australia's most beloved authors as she talks about her 14th novel, as part of a four week long national tour, visiting regional and metropolitan areas around Australia. I enjoy visiting other worlds, times, places, meeting, discovering and inventing new people. Creating a book and the people who inhabit it is a wonderful thing, and reading is also a wonderful thing. When I travel around Australia meeting and talking to people who engage as I do with books, and knowing that they happen to feel this way about my books... Well, this fact never ceases to delight and amaze me. It's a privilege, says Judy.
