Richard Tulloch is one of Australia’s most prolific and popular writers of books, plays and television for young audiences. He has over 60 children’s books to his credit and is also an actor and director. He was associate director of the National Theatre Company in Perth and artistic director of the Toe Truck Theatre in Sydney. He has written plays for young audiences which have been performed all over the world and include Year 9 Are Animals and Stella and the Moon Man. He has also adapted a number of best-selling books for the stage including Robin Klein's Hating Alison Ashley, Space Demons by Gillian Rubinstein, Stage Fright stories by Paul Jennings, and Midnite by Randolph Snow.

Richard’s many television credits include Playschool and 150 episodes of Bananas in Pyjamas. He is a qualified lawyer and teacher and has taught numerous creative writing classes for both children and adults.

Richard lives with his wife in Sydney and spends part of each year based in his home town of Amsterdam.
