A life beyond your wildest dreams
As a leader exuding quiet confidence, Brian Houston sets the tone for Hillsong global ministries with over 16 churches in 16 different countries, and hundreds of campuses and services. Brian is the President of the newly appointed Hillsong Channel, as well as the President of Hillsong College and the Executive Producer of Hillsong Music – known worldwide for their congregational anthems sung by millions each and every weekend. Together with his wife and co-pastor Bobbie, Brian describes Hillsong as “one house with many rooms.” Now in their fourth decade of ministry leadership, Brian and Bobbie’s “heart for the house” remains as fresh and vibrant as ever.
Pastor Brian and Bobbie are living testimonies to the fact that THERE IS MORE. From humble beginnings in a small town in New Zealand, Brian always believed there to be more to his life and his purpose. Yet, never in his wildest dreams did he imagine what he does with his life today.
note from Brian:
“THERE IS MORE expresses my heart and encourages people of all ages to be successful in every sphere of life. By building our lives around godly principles, surrounding ourselves with wisdom and living for a cause greater than ourselves, we can effectively live out God’s purposes and create an enduring legacy for generations to come.
In my new book, I share how - with God’s power working in us - we can believe and achieve a life that exceeds every expectation. THERE IS MORE is about fulfilling the God-given mandate, calling and potential in our lives –and giving Him all the glory. When we depend on Jesus as the source for our identity, our lives can be a lasting legacy that maximizes the gifts He has given each of us as unique individuals. As we surrender control and follow God’s guidance, we become empowered and equipped to do the impossible, reach higher and go further than we could have ever imagined.
Sweeping out the broom cupboard and packing down chairs in a little school hall in the suburbs of Sydney, I never imagined I would one day lead a church of tens of thousands, globally. Knees knocking while delivering a devotional message to my Bible College classmates, you couldn’t have imagined I would ever stand to preach in stadiums. Meeting 19-year-old Bobbie Macdonald on a beach in Papamoa, I never could have dreamed of the life we have now – with 3 adult children all serving the Lord, and a growing number of beautiful grandchildren who are our pride and joy. For me, Ephesians 3.20 rings beautifully true:
(NKJV) 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
