When Shane Crawford was eight years old, he wrote down, 'When I grow up I want to win a Brownlow medal'. He played footy and every sport he could all through school, and made sure he could run faster and longer than everyone else.
When I was eight, I wrote in a little book that I wanted to win the Brownlow Medal
When I was twenty-five, my dream came true.
As a boy playing footy in the country town where I grew up, I always wanted to win a premiership. You've probably had that dream. Well, in my 305th game with Hawthorn Football Club, that dream came true too.
I was just an ordinary kid who played a lot of sport with my brothers and the other boys at school. Lots of people thought I was too small to make it in the AFL so I made sure I was super fit and fast and I never stopped trying.
My life is proof that dreams can come true. Yes, you need some luck. But you can make great things happen if you have the right attitude, work hard, believe in yourself and never give in.
I hope you enjoy my story and that it inspires you to chase your own dreams. That's What I'm Talking About!
