Young people caught up in the chaos and carnage of war.

Social activist and Save the Children founder Eglantyne Jebb famously said: ‘Every war is a war against children.’ The damage is immeasurable – the threat of violence, starvation, exploitation and loss leaving scars that impact the lives of millions. Families and communities are torn apart, many are forced to flee their homes and homelands, and at times children are called upon to join in the bloodshed. Having observed grownups at their worst, there is much we can learn from the accounts of children during wartime. These are some of their remarkable stories.
