About the author

John Prater

John Prater studied art in Portsmouth and Brighton and worked as a teacher for many years before turning his attention to children's books. His first book, On Friday Something Funny Happened, was shortlisted for the Mother Goose Award in 1982.
John Prater first got the idea for Baby Bear when he became a granddad and he has now written and illlustrated nine Baby Bear books. John Prater lives in Horndean, Hampshire.
