The Praxis is a series of exams used across the U.S. to certify public school teachers. It has two main parts: the Core (formerly Praxis I), testing basic reading, writing, and math skills; and the Subject Assessments (formerly Praxis II), comprised of a battery of topic-specific tests in over 90 different subject areas as well as teaching pedagogy. Many states require both scores as part of educator licensing; others use only the SAs for specific grades and topics. Core scores are also used by some colleges and universities as part of teaching program admissions.
Cracking the Praxis covers both the Core exams and the most popular Subject Assessment tests, and includes 6 practice exams across the most popular tests. This revised 3rd edition incorporates consumer feedback and includes more teaching/content review than prior editions, as well as brand-new drill sets added to content review chapters.
