About
Sylvana is the youngest of five children of Italian parents, Rosa (Nonna) and Rosario, who migrated from Sicily to start a new life in Australia in 1964, where they settled in New Farm, a popular Italian inner-city suburb. Sylvana was born and raised in Brisbane. She and her husband, Simon Bliss, have four children: twin daughters Isabella and Sofia, and two sons, Roman and Ruben. Isabella and Sofia competed in Junior MasterChef in 2010; Isabella won and Sofia made it to the top four.

{ view all }The Australian Book Industry Awards were held in Sydney on Friday night. It was a great night for Penguin with our books taking the top honors in four book categories including the prestigious Book of the Year. Congratulations also to Peg McColl, Kate McCormack and the rights team who won the International (Rights) Award for the second year running for Paul French's book Midnight in Peking. United Book Distributors were again named Distributor of the Year.
