Marylyn Abbott (Author)
About
Marylyn Abbot's passion for gardening was inspired by her mother and grandmother, who both kept beautiful gardens in her native Australia. She spent 16 years as marketing and tourism manager of the Sydney Opera House before deciding to devote herself to gardening. Today she masterminds her two famous gardens and runs an extensive series of lectures and classes in both England and Australia. An annual opera festival at West Green House, held in the exquisite Green Theatre and surrounded by one of England's most delightful gardens, has become the 'petit bijou' of country-house opera.
She divides her time between England and Australia and is much in demand as a lecturer all over the world. She writes for The English Garden and her work is frequently featured in most prominent gardening magazines. Her previous books, both published by Kyle Cathie, are Gardening with Light and Colour and Gardens of Plenty.
