ISBN 13 and the retiring of the Bisac format
As of 1 January 2007, 13 digit ISBNs will be the industry standard.
The 13-digit number will be identical with the EAN-13 number that is currently encoded in the barcode.

If you currently sell non book product, i.e. postcards / cds / anything with a 13 digit barcode, through your POS system, it is likely that your system is capable of managing the change. (Please seek advice from your POS system provider.)

From 1 Jan 2007 Penguin will be providing title information in the ONIX format. (The international standard) (Again, please seek advice from your POS system provider about loading and utilising this format.)
